sydney - The Australian police arrested a 59-year-old man who attempted to sell rocket parts from North Korea.

The Korean-born man has lived in Australia for thirty years. He was arrested Saturday in a suburb of Sydney, police announce Sunday. The authorities had been thinking about the man for some time.

If the alleged supporter of the regime in Pyongyang had succeeded in his sale, the poor North Korea would have generated tens of millions of euros.

The police stressed that no North Korean weapon parts had entered Australia. The man would also have tried to sell coal to Vietnam and Indonesia.

North Korea has been subject to a large number of economic sanctions because of the country's nuclear program.
