Greeks are hoping for tourists

athens - The empty Greek treasury is severely embarrassed revenue. The government anticipates that the revival of tourism in Greece this year will provide a significant increase in revenues. The proceeds of the foreign visitors will increase by perhaps 9 percent from 2016.

Greek tourism office SETE think that the tourists around 14.5 billion euros in 2017 will bring in the drawer. That is an optimistic picture compared to 2016, when a drop of 6.4 percent resulted in 13.2 billion tourism revenue.

The SETE expects in 2017 to welcome approximately 27 million tourists. Last year the counter stopped at 25 million visitors.

The tourism sector accounts for about 18 percent of the domestic product and holds a fifth of the labor force in the country to work. is thought to be an economic growth of 2.7 percent for this year. This is also necessary to help the country out of deep recession.
