Great blunder EU with million rent

brussels - The relocation of the European Medicines Agency (EMA) from London to the European Continent will cost hundreds of millions of euros. The lease agreement does not indicate a notice period and therefore the lease continues until 2039.

Because of the Brexit, the EEA must move to an EU Member State, including the Netherlands, aast at the prestigious agency. But the rental contract of the office at Canary Wharf, one of London's most expensive neighborhoods, does not have a cancellation clause. The rent will therefore continue until 2039. The remaining rental amount is estimated at 347.6 million euros. This is evidenced by a report by the European Parliament.

PVV European Parliamentary Olaf Stuger speaks of a 'greatest order of stupidity'. 'Every well-known person knows that you must not enter into a 30-year lease obligation without cancellation clause. 'He wants to know if there are more of this kind of rental contracts.

The main negotiator on behalf of the European Commission, Michel Barnier, believes that the UK must pay for all additional costs of the Brexit, such as those of inevitable removals.

But who will ultimately charge the bill is not yet predictable. The EU will, as the Brexit negotiations in June finally begin to reach agreement on the final settlement for the British. In Brussels, an amount of 60 billion euros will be credited to the EU, but the United Kingdom does not want to pay anything at all.

Besides the Netherlands, six other Member States are still awaiting the arrival of the EEA. Premier Rutte sent a letter to Commission President Juncker and European President Tusk last week to support the Dutch candidacy.

On Saturday, Heads of State and Government of the 27 EU Member States meet for an additional Brexit Summit in Brussels. They then adopt the guidelines that the negotiator can get on behalf of the EU.
