berlin - On Tuesday, German customs and police launched a major campaign against undeclared work and organized crime. At least a thousand police officers are, according to German media, involved in a series of raids, especially in the federal state of North Rhine-Westphalia.
Special units from the police also participate in the raids. The police have not disclosed where the raids are. In any case, the Rheinische Post newspaper reports about raids on a house and a company in Erkrath. The police would have ten arrest warrants and have now arrested a person.
The action is directed against undeclared work in construction. This, according to German customs, causes millions of euros of damage. On Monday there was also a big action in North Rhine-Westphalia against a gang of car healers, where various arrests were made.
