Gorbachev not welcome in Ukraine

- Mikhail Gorbachev is not welcome in Ukraine. The government in Kiev is not allow him to come to the country in the next five years as the former president of the Soviet Union after the annexation of the Crimea by Russia state.

The National Security Council in Kiev took the decision to ban Thursday. The now 85-year-old Gorbachev declined to comment on the decision. Sunday he praised in an interview with the British newspaper The Sunday Times, the annexation by President Putin. He himself would not have acted differently, he said.

Russia annexed the Crimea in March 2014 after a controversial referendum among the population. Also fierce international protests prevented the Russians not to annex the Ukrainian peninsula.
