Google and Oracle back to court

- Google and software maker Oracle'll meet on Monday in court. The conflict between the two companies has been dragging on for six years and is mainly about Google's use of parts of Java software developed by Oracle, writes the Wall Street Journal.

It is the second time that Oracle is complaining about the unauthorized use of Java software by Google. In 2012, some a jury that Oracle was right. The judge later decided, however, that there is no copyright on the software. Since then, on several occasions conducted proceedings against that decision.

Both sides say they strive for innovation in the field of software development. Oracle says that if Google Java may use free of charge, other companies are discouraged from innovating. The Internet giant from Mountain View will, however, counters that a hefty fine and license programmers precisely deter develop tools for software to 'talk to each other'- as Google itself did with Java.

Moreover, there are billions at stake and the ruling of the court determines to a large extent the new rules for software development.
