Google allows VR to CEO

- 2016 will be the year of virtual reality, may now not be called secret anymore. Google also sees it and has appointed a chief executive who will just deal with this new tech area.


         Clay Bavor was previously responsible for Google Apps- online applications such as Docs and Drive- and also worked on include the Cardboard initiative from the internet giant. This is the initiative whereby people a cheap, cardboard-made VR glasses can purchase a smartphone which can be placed.
Bavor is now head of a special VR division within Google, though it is not entirely clear what that means. Besides Cardboard Google has also designed a platform for recording 360 degree video for VR goggles, and otherwise on new initiatives are unknown.
Competitor Facebook is now almost ready to ship its Oculus glasses to buyers. However, the device is quite pricey: in Europe it will cost € 699 and to function well is another need a powerful PC.
