Germans never drank so much beer

- Germans never drunk as much beer as last year. According to the Statistics Office Destatis in 2015 was 79.5 million hectoliters of beer drinking. That is the least since 1991, when it was started tracking the figures.

In 1991 the Germans drank 110.5 million hectoliters of beer, but has since dropped that amount systematically.

The German brewers remain nonetheless do well, but they have to do it thanks to exports. Between 2014 and 2015 exports rose by 4 percent, while domestic beer consumption fell by 0.7 percent.
