Angela Merkel's CDU, the CSU and the Social Democratic SPD met again on Wednesday morning to cut the knots, after the negotiations did not lead to a decision on Tuesday.

Merkel said on Tuesday that he was prepared to make 'painful compromises' because of a breakthrough of the political impasse facing Germany since the elections on 24 September. Previously she negotiated in vain with the FDP and the Greens.
