washington - George Bush, the 41st President of the United States, was known as pragmatic, calm and diplomatic. However, he does not go down in history as a great head of state. George Herbert Walker Bush was the son of a wealthy banker and senator. After the Second World War (where he was the youngest pilot in the navy) he married his childhood love Barbara Pierce. With their six children they lived in Texas, where he became rich in the oil industry and entered politics.
