Generous giver stops money in German mailboxes

mannheim - An unknown benefactor has put thousands of euros in mailboxes in the German city of Mannheim in recent weeks. The police are still in the dark about the identity of the generous donor, but think it is possible that someone with an intellectual disability.

Not all finders seem to keep the money. So far, four envelopes with cash have been handed in to the police. It also urges residents to transfer the banknotes so that they can eventually be returned to the rightful owner.

It is not the first time that a mysterious person throws money in Germany. For example, in Konstanz last year the police reported someone who put 20 and 50 euro notes in letter boxes and placed them under windscreen wipers.
