Gemalto has Bluetooth Smart Solution

- Gemalto digital security officer on Tuesday announced the availability of Mobile PKI SafeNet, without reporting financial details. The solution creates a secure communications between mobile devices and PKI (Public Key Infrastructure) smart cards by using so called Bluetooth Smart technology.

PKI is under Gemalto one of the most trusted security infrastructures today. Mobile devices, however, are not provided with the USB ports or smart card slots, which were required up to now for the use of this technology.

Gemalto does this new Bluetooth Smart solution designed for IT departments and organizations to enable PKI applications from end users to expand to mobile devices with operating systems such as iOS, Android and Windows Mobile.
