Gabriel is not in new German government

berlin - The German Foreign Minister Sigmar Gabriel will not get a place in a new government. Gabriel, politician of the Social Democratic SPD, has announced this through social media.

According to Gabriel, the current SPD leaders, Olaf Scholz and Andrea Nahles, have informed him that he will not receive a ministerial post. Gabriel made way for Martin Schulz last year as party chairman and candidate for the federal chancellorship. The story went that he would keep his post if there was a new coalition with CDU / CSU.

During the negotiations on the formation of the new coalition, the Christian Democrats and the Social Democrats agreed that the SPD may again provide the Minister for Foreign Affairs. The SPD announces the candidate Friday morning.
