paris - French children have to go to school from the age of next year. President Emmanuel Macron lowers the school age from six to three years. That is mainly a symbolic measure: 98% of French children are already in school for the first time at the age of three.
According to the Elysée, Macron wants to promote equality in education. 'And it is a recognition of the kindergarten, which is no longer to be seen as a reception place or as a simple preparation for primary school', the channel France24 quotes the presidential palace.
