France continues to hold nuclear power plants

paris - The French government will not shut down further nuclear plants until 2022, in addition to the already announced closure of the plant in Fessenheim. In a long-awaited speech on energy politics, President Emmanuel Macron said that France will not completely ban atomic energy. In 2022 his (first) term ends as president.

The head of state announced that half of the electricity in its country will be supplied by nuclear power plants by 20% at the moment. In that year, fourteen of the 58 reactors must be closed.
