Fourteen EU countries are deploying Russians

brussels - Fourteen EU Member States decided on Monday to expel Russian diplomats from their country. That made EU President Donald Tusk known in Brussels. He did not rule out the fact that more European countries will follow in the coming days with measures in response to the poisonous attack in Salisbury in England on a former Russian double spy.

Great Britain has already issued 23 diplomats, now also Germany, France, the Netherlands, Denmark and other countries. The measures are a reaction to the assassination attempt with a nerve gas in England on a Russian ex-spy, Sergei Skripal. With the expansion of the diplomats, the countries express their solidarity with Great Britain in the conflict.

The Netherlands will deploy two intelligence officers. Both Germany and France expel four Russian diplomats. The Czech Republic is waiting for three Russian diplomats. Latvia has informed a Russian military attaché that he has to leave and Lithuania is deploying three diplomats. Ukraine is sending thirteen diplomats back to Russia.

Earlier on Monday, four EU countries called the Russian ambassador to their country on the issue. They were Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland. These European countries all have a border with Russia. At the European summit last week, it was agreed that EU countries would take steps against Russia as support for the British.

Russia denies any involvement in the attack in early March with a chemical that has ever been developed in the then Soviet Union. Moscow states that the British who wants to leave the European Union misuse the issue to damage EU-Russia relations.

At an EU summit last week, the 28 'in the sharpest possible terms' condemned the attack with a nerve attack and decided to take coordinated measures.
