amsterdam - With more than three hundred performances, the Uitmarkt next weekend will start the new cultural season for the fortieth time. The event is not at the Museumplein this time, but stretches to a new location along the Oosterdok.

The event begins Friday evening with the traditional opening show, presented by Jörgen Raymann with performances by Tania Kross, DI-RECT, the Dutch Dance Theater, rappers Dio and Idaly and singer Boris. The show is live on TV. In addition, there is dance in the Shipping Museum, you can stay overnight and look at the stars in the Amsterdam Public Library and there is a cabaret on the Marineterrein.

On Sundays it's time for classical music from the water and the Uitmarkt is closed every year with the Musical Sing-a-Long.

The outlet runs until Sunday. Every year, about half a million people come to the official opening of the cultural season.
