washington - US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has appointed Brian Hook as special delegate for Iran. The experienced political adviser at the department will be in charge of the 'action group Iran' which was called on Thursday. This committee will coordinate the policy regarding Tehran.
The Trump government announced earlier this year to break with the 2015 nuclear agreement and to impose sanctions on Iran because the Islamic republic has a disruptive influence on the region.
Washington only stated that it wants to deviate from the hard line if Iran agrees to negotiate a much better and clearer deal. Truly sensitive punitive measures, which mainly affect the energy and financial sector of Iran, will take effect on 4 November.
