For a million dollars, Weinstein buys temporary freedom

- Harvey Weinstein can await the handling of his case in freedom. The judge in New York decided that the film producer could be released on bail. The deposit is one million dollars (approximately 858,000 euros). Weinstein has to hand in his passport and carry a device with which he can be followed.

The police announced earlier that Weinstein is being prosecuted for rape and other criminal offenses. They relate to two women whose identity has not been disclosed.

Weinstein reported to the police in New York on Friday. Officers later handcuffed him to court.
