Flags at half mast at European Commission

brussels - European flags at the European Commission in Brussels on Tuesday hung at half-mast. The Berlaymont building of the commission is just steps away from the stop Maelbeek Metro Station, which according to public transport company STIB have fallen fifteen deaths.

Ten injured people would be in danger. According to Health Minister Maggie De Block are still people trapped in Maelbeek Metro Station.

The area around the rue de la Loi, where the European Commission and numerous other European institutions are located, is closed by the police. The metro stations has been shut down shut and public transport in the city center.
