naypyidaw - The National League for Democracy (NLD) leader Aung San Suu Kyi has to start twelve parliamentary seats won in the first twelve constituencies where the results became known.

These are constituencies in the largest city of the country, Rangoon. The NLD is headed for a massive election victory in the first free elections in 25 years. The military rulers supported the ruling party USDP (Party for Unity, Solidarity and Development). Monday has been recognized to have significantly lost. An estimated 80 percent of the 32 million eligible voters had cast his vote.

Suu Kyi won in 1990 even though the elections, but the military did not put himself at the results down. Suu Kyi was under fifteen more years of house arrest. This time, the generals have promised that they will not stick stabbing a government of the NLD. The military, however, remain powerful with their 'own' ministries dealing with security and with their grip on the economy through military-led zakenimperiums. Moreover, a quarter of parliamentary seats for the military is "reserved".
