Fire drives passenger runway

london - London City Airport was evacuated on Wednesday evening after a fire started in one of the buildings at the airport. Outside, amidst the planes, about six hundred passengers are waiting.

There is also no air traffic according to eyewitnesses. Just landed aircraft are waiting at the terminal, according to traveler Nick van Holstein from Bilthoven. Passengers are not admitted to the arrival hall.

The cause of the fire is not yet known. London City Airport is an airport where many business trips go. It is smaller than Heathrow, but travelers land in the heart of London.
