- A 56-year-old Malaysian has been sentenced to a fine of 25,000 Malaysian Ringgit (5,500 euros) or 36 months imprisonment for possession of live pangolins and scales.
The man had got caught in February this year in an audit. In his car inspectors found 24 live schubdiertjes, a carcass and 900 gram scales.
The pangolin is a protected and endangered species. Meanwhile twenty animals are returned successfully in nature, reports the Borneo Post.
