- Two F / A-18 Hornets of the US Navy on Thursday in the air collided about 30 kilometers off the coast of North Carolina. The fighter-bombers each had two occupants. All four survived the crash. Whether there is injury, it is not yet clear.
The pilots and gunners were removed from the water by a fishing boat and later by a Coast Guard helicopter to a hospital in Norfolk, the magazine Virginian-Pilot reports.
According to the Navy, the Hornets were among the Oceana Naval Air Station in Virginia Beach and they were working on a routine mission. The cause of the accident is under investigation.
