FBI arrested dozens of mobsters on

- Police in the US have been arrested in a major operation 46 members of five Italian mafia families. They are suspected of a series of criminal activities such as smuggling, trafficking in weapons, extortion and arson.

The arrests were on addresses in the states of New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts and Florida, the Federal Criminal Investigation FBI announced. The suspects belong to illustrious families as Gambino, Lucchese and Genovese.

The arrests were made after an investigation that lasted several years.
