Father fled Saudi in Thailand

bangkok - The father of a Saudi woman who is fleeing her family has arrived in Thailand. He wants to meet his daughter there, the Thai authorities say.

The 18-year-old Rahaf Mohammed al-Qunun recently fled from Kuwait where she stayed with family members. She stranded in Thailand, where the authorities initially wanted to send her back. Then Qunun barricaded the door of her hotel room and asked for help via social media. She says she is murdered when she goes back to Saudi Arabia, where her family would not forgive her for leaving.
