The continued rollout of the label means that those who are performing a Google search and see results get checked by a third party for factual accuracy, which will be seen clearly on the search results page. A snippet shows information about the claim, such as those derived and whether an authoritative source that has been verified for accuracy.

The information will otherwise not be shown for each search result. Also, the possibility exists that different fact checkers have come to different conclusions.

The checks are not made by Google. Fact checks only content that are authoritative sources of information in the Google algorithms are eligible for inclusion in the search results. There are now 115 organizations who carry out the fact-checks.
