Face Detection Dives in iOS Beta

cupertino - It seems strongly that Apple uses Face Detection in iOS. In an early beta version of iOS 11.0.2, software developer Steven Troughton-Smith has found clues.

Troughton-Smith has a version of iOS that is specifically designed for Apple's HomePod speaker yet to be released. Last week, he released information about the smart speaker from this iOS version, but now the developer has also found hints on features that are likely to be in the iPhone 8. Face recognition is such a feature.

About the iPhone 8- or how the device may be called- the wildest rumors make the round, but one of the more persistent rumors is about the lack of a Touch ID fingerprint scanner. Apple wants the button on the front of the iPhone where the scanner is in, but could not find an alternative location for the button. Preferably, Apple wants to process a virtual scanner on the iPhone screen, but that seems technically not feasible. Recently, rumors made that facial recognition possible as an alternative to serving the fingerprint scanner and that rumor seems to be confirmed by Troughton-Smith.
