Exceptional meeting between UN boss and President N Korea

pyeongchang - The Secretary-General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, briefly met with North Korean President Kim Yong-nam during the opening ceremony of the Winter Olympics in South Korea.

'He had a brief interview with President Kim in which he reiterated that his expectation and hope is that all parties will use the dialogue to bring about a peaceful nuclear disarmament of the Korean peninsula,' said UN spokesman Farhan Haq.

Kim Yong-nam, the ceremonial head of state of North Korea, came to Pyeongchang on Friday with a whole delegation. The sister of dictator Kim Jong-un is also part of this. Kim Yo-jong is the first member of the North Korean ruling dynasty to visit the southern neighbor.
