Evacuations in France caused by flooding after heavy rainfall

- More than 1,600 people have been evacuated in the south of France due to flooding after the very heavy rainfall. This mainly concerns campers, including many Dutch people. Especially campers in the popular holiday regions Gard, Ardèche and Drôme have been given a heavy choice.

Hundreds of rescue workers were deployed during the large-scale evacuation. There are reports of injuries. Nothing is known yet about numbers. A 70-year-old man from Germany is missing. The caravan where he sat was dragged through the water.
