san juan - The inhabitants in the Rio Guajataca river basin in northwest Puerto Rico were urged to seek a safe return as quickly as possible. The meteorological institute of San Juan, part of the US National Weather Service (NWS), hit a big alarm. A dam in the river can not break and threaten to break the huge influx of water. This leads to life-threatening floods.
The residents in Isabela and Quebradillas are urgently recommended to go to higher places. For the large-scale evacuation all available buses are used. Due to the wake of the devastating hurricane Maria, the situation on the island is already precarious.
