'Evacuation after fire and riot in French prison'

- "A prison in the French town Vivonne, west of France, was evacuated because inmates refused to return to their cells after a fire. Reported AFP."

"\"There was a riot in one of the buildings of the prison,\" said Emmanuel Giraud, responsible official of the prisons in the region. Two detainees while attacked a jailer and thereby took away his keys. Then they freed about 60 other prisoners, local media reported. Then they set fire to part of the building."

"Despite the exciting situation in prison is not a hostage. Everybody has managed to leave the building. In total about 180 prisoners stay in the property. Firefighters, ambulances and police have been to prison. There is also used a helicopter.
