European subsidy for drones above the sea

brussels - Some European defense projects involving the Dutch research organization TNO can count on financial support from the European Defense Fund. The largest research project called Ocean2020 revolves around unmanned submarines and drones that monitor the situation at sea and can take action in the event of a threat.

The project is being carried out by a consortium led by the Italian company Leonardo, in which 42 partners from fifteen EU countries participate, including TNO and the Ministry of Defense. There are 35 million available to integrate the drones and submarines into the European fleets. Next year, the Swedish and Italian navies in the Baltic and Mediterranean will demonstrate the first results.

In three other projects- for each of which 1 to 3 million euros is available- better military equipment is the focus.
