brussels - The sanctions, must be extended to a year Tuesday against Iran the European Union. These are sanctions imposed in 2011 because of serious human rights violations.

82 Iranians of the assets in the EU frozen. They must not travel to Europe. In addition, EU companies may not export items to Iran that could be used for repression or for tapping phones and computers.

The sanctions against Iran over its nuclear program were relaxed in January 2014, because the theocratic regime in Tehran stuck to the agreements with the major UN countries. Two years later they were eliminated almost completely.

The tires are gradually tightened. A year ago a large delegation traveled to Iran EU commissioners to lay the foundation for better (trade) relations.
