brussels - The EU countries are fully united with the British after the nerve gas attack in Salisbury on a former double spy and his daughter. EU foreign ministers are very worried and come up later with a joint statement, said EU overseas head Federica Mogherini prior to consultations in Brussels.

German minister Heiko Maas said that any new sanctions would be discussed if the British asked for it. The British Minister Boris Johnson will first discuss his colleagues about the state of the research. He meets with NATO CEO Jens Stoltenberg later in the day.

American, British, German and French leaders expressed their horror about the assassination last week. They took the British conclusion that Russia must be left behind. Moscow has denied involvement.
