EU ambassador back in Moscow

brussels - The European Union Ambassador in Russia is back at his post in Moscow. After the attack with nerve gas in Salisbury on former double-spy Sergej Skripal and his daughter, the government leaders decided to call the German Markus Ederer back to Brussels for consultation at their top three weeks ago.

The leaders made the decision after they had established that the only credible explanation is that Russia is behind the attack. In the following days, almost all EU countries rejected Russian diplomats, followed by similar measures from Russia.

'We need to show more clearly that the EU thinks this is unacceptable and that we are behind England', said Prime Minister Rutte at the time about the attack and recall of the EU ambassador.
