Erdogan: No solution as long as Assad is there

ankara - Turkish President Erdogan said Tuesday that there can be no solution to the conflict in Syria, as long as that country is led by President Bashar al-Assad. 'Assad has to leave, the land must be freed from him before a peaceful settlement of the conflict can be reached,' said Erdogan in an interview with Reuters press office.

Erdogan called on Russia to lower its support to Assad's rule. According to Erdogan, Putin told him that 'he is not Assad's lawyer'.
