Egyptian hijacked plane lands in Cyprus

- An EgyptAir plane with 55 passengers on board was hijacked Tuesday morning, as confirmed by a spokesman for the airline to Bloomberg. The domestic flight would land in Cairo, but is now on the floor in Cyprus. Cypriot authorities fear that a bomb was on board.
The passenger plane with flight number MSR181 was en route from the Egyptian city of Alexandria to Cairo.
According to foreign media, the armed hijacker or hijackers would have asked to land the unit in Cyprus. However, it is now on the ground in Larnaca airport. The airport is closed. All flights are diverted.
Aboard the aircraft seating 55 passengers and seven crew members.
