Ed Sheeran loses it from German trees

- The city council of Düsseldorf does not give permission for an open-air concert by the British superstar Ed Sheeran. For his performance in the car park of the trade fair, 104 trees would have to be cut down to make room for the stage.

Although the mayor promised to offset the loss of green generously, the members of the CDU, Greens, Linke and Free Electors continued to oppose. Only SPD and FDP voted for Wednesday.

Sheeran would perform on July 22 for 85,000 enthusiasts, including from the Netherlands. The tickets were sold out in no time. That the concert is not going on, is not only a setback for the fans, also for organizer FKP Scorpio who had already made a lot of money. That is now threatening a legal battle.
