Earthquake jolts newly rebuilt Christchurch

- The inhabitants of New Zealand Wellington on Sunday rocked by a powerful earthquake, which called on the devastating impact of five years ago in memory. This time, however, there were no deaths or injuries, and there was hardly any damage.

The earthquake had a magnitude of 5.7 and occurred at shallow depths, Geonet reports, the New Zealand seismological service. Some buildings were evacuated, but the effects of the quake were nothing compared to that of five years earlier.

Christchurch arose just before the anniversary of the devastating earthquake of 22 February 2011. They took 185 people dead and left little of Christchurch, the third city in the country.
