Earthquake in New Zealand

auckland - The North Island of New Zealand on Thursday suffered a major earthquake with a magnitude of 7.2 on the Richter scale.

The epicenter was just off the coast of the island, about 400 kilometers from the city of Auckland. The quake had occurred 40 kilometers deep.
