Dutch skier dies in Sölden

solden - A 50-year-old Dutch skier died Sunday afternoon in Sölden.
In the Rettenbachgletscher area he lost his balance during a descent, flew fourteen meters through the air and collided with a wooden fence.
During the fall he lost his helmet and skis. Bystanders were still trying to resuscitate him. A rescue helicopter could not land close by the dense fog. The victim would have died on the spot, news site ORF reports. at.
Sölden is a popular winter sports destination among Dutch people. The man was with five family members on ski holiday. It is not yet known where he comes from.
