Drama German soccer clash
- Totally unexpected lightning on Saturday made a dramatic end to a youth football game in the German village Hoppstätten (Rhineland-Palatinate). The referee, who had just given the final whistle, was hit and had to be resuscitated before being taken to a hospital with a trauma helicopter.
In total were 35 people, most playing figures between nine and eleven years old, wounded. Three adults have been serious condition. The kids especially complained about an abnormal heart rhythm. They are all a precaution in the hospital medical examination but make it well given the circumstances.
In France there were injured by lightning. Ten children and one adult were hospitalized after a strike in a park in Paris. Two of them are serious condition.
