strasbourg - Governments, companies and organizations need to make more efforts to address sexual harassment. 'There are a lot of laws, guidelines and codes of conduct, but they have to be implemented,' said EU Commissioner Cecilia Malmström during a debate in the EU Parliament in Strasbourg.

She announced a European study of the practices and promised to investigate what could be done more. 'We, the women and the men, must eradicate this,' said the Swedish, who has 'no personal experience here'.

The debate was the result of the global # MeToo campaign that brings women their experiences with sexual cross-border behavior. Various media reported on testimonies that the culture of sexual harassment in the EU Parliament is in place. European parliamentarians can not be prosecuted unless their inviolability is lifted.
