The storm was accompanied by heavy rain showers and floods. In some places the water was 1.5 meters high. More than 80,000 homes were damaged and more than 30,000 people had to be brought to safety, according to the State Commission for Disaster Prevention.
The storm will give much water in the coming days. This could affect the arrival of heads of state and government, including US President Donald Trump, who convened a summit of the Asian-Pacific Economic Partnership APEC later this week in the Vietnamese city of Da Nang.
