Diplomatic consultations on Libya and Syria
- Diplomats from more than twenty countries will meet Monday in the Austrian capital Vienna to discuss the conflicts in Syria and Libya. They are invited by the US Secretary of State John Kerry and his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov.
Among the participants are the foreign ministers of the rival regional powers Iran and Saudi Arabia.
The tensions between Armenia and Azerbaijan are discussed. The deliberations are pulled out two days.

Monday is the 'stabilization conference' on Libya planned under the leadership of the United States and Italy. International organizations take part in the talks. This should lead to greater support for the new unity government in Libya, which should take the place of two rival governments.
On Tuesday, Syria on the agenda. Ministers look into restoring a cease-fire and finding a political solution to the conflict. At the same time there is talk of extending humanitarian assistance to the population of besieged areas.
