Diplomat North Korea leaves for Finland
beijing - A North Korean top diplomat has left for Finland for interviews with American former diplomats and South Koreans. The North Korean Choe Kang-il, according to the South Korean news agency Yonhap, was spotted in Beijing, where he boarded a plane to the northern European country.
Diplomatic sources in Seoul say Choe will participate in a meeting with Kathleen Stephens, the former American ambassador in South Korea. Safety experts from South Korea are also moving forward.
Participants are expected to exchange views on planned summits in which North Korea participates. For example, North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un may meet both US President Donald Trump and South Korean leader Moon Jae-in in the coming months.
Choe kept the jaws stiff together about the subjects on the agenda. 'There is nothing to share now. I will give an explanation when I return, 'said the Vice-Director General for North American Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
