Designer Spider-Man died

new york - The American comic strip author Steve Ditko died at the age of ninety. He was a co-creator of, among others, Spider-Man and Doctor Strange. Ditko was found dead in his apartment last week Friday, presumably he had died a few days earlier, reports the police in New York to The Hollywood Reporter.

Ditko invented superhero Spider-Man together with Stan Lee in the early sixties with publisher Marvel Comics. Lee had commissioned Ditko to design Spider-Man, after he was dissatisfied with the work of Jack Kirby, another big name at Marvel. Then Ditko invented the familiar appearance of Spider-Man, such as the red-blue costume.

In 1966 Ditko left Marvel after, as is supposed, disagreement with Lee. Later he would return there. Ditko also worked for competitor DC Comics. He tried to stay out of publicity as much as possible.
