Democrat Jones winner election Alabama

montgomery - The Alabama authorities have officially declared the Democrat Doug Jones Thursday the winner of the interim Senate election in the usually Republican state.

The responsible minister John Merrill announced this after the judge rejected a request from the Republican Roy Moore for revision due to possible electoral fraud.

Moore, the defeated candidate for the succession of Jeff Sessions in the US Senate, had filed a suit on Wednesday night at the last minute because he thought there had been malpractices. Jones received about 22,000 votes (1.6 percent) more than Moore on December 12th. This was discredited by accusations of sexual assault and sexual harassment of minors. His campaign suffered severely.
