- A military court in Egypt on Sunday, eight suspected supporters of the Muslim Brotherhood to death convicted of inciting violence and attacks. Eighteen others were given long prison sentences.
Human rights organization Amnesty International protested against the convictions. The organization calls the wrongful convictions, partly because the suspects were tortured. The condemned could still appeal.
The Muslim Brotherhood is seen by the government of President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi as a terrorist movement.
